An incredible antique butterfly brooch dating from the Victorian period, circa 1880. It's set with a gorgeous demantoid garnet, and features beautifully fine detailed wings. Modelled in 15 karat gold, it remains in great condition with brooch and pendant fittings. Although this beautiful insect is thought of as "Psyche" - the soul, the butterfly is also believed to be a symbol of change. Their life cycle from a humble caterpillar to a chrysalis and finally a beautiful butterfly mirrors the journey of growth and transformation.
