DATE: Victorian, c.1900

Cool antique safety pin in solid 15 karat gold. It was made in the early 20th century, most likely as a gift for a new mother to secure the baby's nappies (obviously completely unnecessary and verging on ostentations, but still... why not?). Dating from circa 1900, it bears English hallmarks (Chester) and the J.W.K. maker's mark of J W Kirwan & Co.
