Antique Victorian brooch. 18k gold. Made in Great Britain circa 1890.

Measurements: Weight is 3.3 grams. Just under 1 1/4 inches (3cm) long.

Description : Brooch depicts a mother elephant and her baby, both standing in profile. It is said that elephants are happy when their trunks are shown up. This Momma has her trunk way up, curling towards her back. The baby hovers under the protection of her large tusks. Beautifully and naturalistically modelled animals. Even the back has facial details of eyes and large ears. Textured skin.
